The ideal candidate:

  • Is an outstanding practitioner and educator (Spanish specialism is essential)
  • Has a love of learning and high expectations of student’s achievement and behaviour
  • Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Is a strong team player who will work in partnership with staff, governors, parents and the wider community
  • Is able to lead a department, ensuring quality of Teaching and Learning for all students.


We are looking for a Head of Department who really cares about helping our students succeed. You will be joining a department who:

  • Put students first - We create differentiated resources that are engaging and student-centred; our innovative lessons inspire our learners to achieve. Our consistently high standards of delivery drive improvements and raise aspirations across both key stages.
  • Supports CPD and career development – We support and challenge each other’s teaching through frequent CPD, team meetings, peer observations and coaching and mentoring for all new staff. 
  • Enjoy trust wide benefits – We benefit from regular collaboration with experts from our academy trust to ensure we stay ‘ahead of the game’.
  • Value team spirit and positive working relationships – We support each other through team-teaching and collaborative planning, fostering a positive working environment.
