KTJ is a thriving international day and boarding school, with state-of-the-art facilities set in the beautiful Malaysian countryside, an hour’s drive south of Kuala Lumpur. The School was established in 1991 and now caters for more than 1,000 students aged 3 to 19. The Primary School, which opened in 2013, follows the English National Curriculum in English and Mathematics, alongside the International Primary Curriculum; while the Secondary School prepares students for IGCSEs and A Levels. Most students go on to study at UK universities.

The Head of Outdoor and Experiential Education works closely with the Head of Primary and the Head of Secondary (Academic) to lead and manage the outdoor and experiential education in accordance to the mission, vision and values of the School. The Head of Outdoor and Experiential Education works to achieve and maintain a vibrant outdoor and experiential curriculum within the school’s existing primary and secondary curriculum; ensuring that all students receive a high quality curriculum. The Head of Outdoor and Experiential Education delivers the curriculum-based interdisciplinary experiential learning activities and expeditions on campus, locally, anywhere in Malaysia and overseas.  The head of Outdoor and Experiential Education also oversee the climbing and lifeguarding ECAs as well as the weekend outdoor activities (including swimming) for the boarding students.

Teaching Information

Teachers at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar are expected to hold at least 2 years’ relevant experience in their teaching subject and the British National Curriculum, with strong IT skills. Teachers are also expected to engage fully in the life of the school.
