An outstanding opportunity at an outstanding School

We are seeking a well-qualified, committed and motivated Teacher of PE to lead this highly successful PE department. We have a track record of excellent academic results in both GCSE and A Level courses with many of our students going on to study sport related subjects at Russell Group Universities, such as Birmingham and Loughborough. The school has an excellent reputation for sporting achievement and plays a very active role in the wider community, participating locally and nationally in many disciplines. We also encourage all students to engage in a variety of sports activities through our extensive and popular extra-curricular programme.

Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. We have recently been accredited ‘World Class Schools’ status (December 2018) giving us recognition that we have moved beyond our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted status and have improved student progress, aspiration and achievement to such an extent that our students rival those of the best schools’ nationally and internationally. We are the only non-selective school in Wirral and Merseyside to have been awarded this quality mark. In the last 3 years the school has consistently achieved significantly above the national average and has positive scores for both P8 and Attainment 8.

In 2014, Weatherhead became a Teaching School, and has been supporting neighbouring schools and delivering Initial Teacher Training since. Through our work as a Teaching School and World Class Schools network we offer outstanding CPD and career development for all staff. As part of the Peninsula Multi Academy Trust, Weatherhead is committed to a culture of excellence and we are looking for an individual who shares that ethos.

For further details and an application form, please telephone the school on 0151 631 4400 or download the relevant files from www.weatherheadhigh.co.uk

A letter of application with the application form, including names and addresses of two referees, should be returned to the Headteacher, via post or email. Please note we are only able to accept application forms downloaded from our website.

Closing date: 3.20pm on Monday, 20th May 2019.

Interview date: Thursday, 23rd May 2019.

Weatherhead is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS will be required for this post. Weatherhead is an Equal Opportunities Employer and positively welcomes applications from all people regardless of their sex, creed, marital status, race, age, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.
