St Dunstan’s College is seeking to recruit an outstanding Head of Pre-Prep, with a track record of expertise and experience in an EYFS and Key Stage 1 setting. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an enthusiastic and ambitious practitioner, who is keen to contribute to a dynamic, diverse and forward-thinking Junior School. We are seeking a motivated and committed strategic thinker, who will have a reduced timetable (with teaching across the Pre-Prep), who will lead, manage and oversee the running of our Pre-Prep, working collaboratively within a strong and cohesive Junior School Leadership Team. The successful candidate will participate fully in shaping the strategic direction of the Junior School, with a particular focus on Nursery to Year 2. Candidates must be positive and consistent in their demeanour and effective at inspiring those within the team to support fully and contribute towards the vision of the section. We have one form of entry in Nursery and move to two forms of entry from Reception.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post. As this role involves 'regulated activity' with children the successful applicant will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure application.  Employment will be conditional upon the College being satisfied with the result of the Enhanced DBS check and the outcome of all other checks. 

The College will also carry out a check of the Children's Barred List on the successful applicant. Applicants should be aware that it is unlawful for the College to employ anyone to work with children if they are barred from doing so, and it is a criminal offence for a person to apply to work with children if they are barred from doing so.

This role is also exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the College is therefore permitted to ask shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
