We wish to recruit a high achieving and effective Curriculum Manager and Teacher of A Level Psychology to the post of Head of Social Sciences.
Background to the post
Following the retirement of the current post holder we are looking for a highly skilled, energetic and committed professional to further improve the teaching, learning and assessment of Social Sciences at Worthing College. As the college seeks to consolidate its ‘best ever’ results and aspire to become an ‘outstanding’ provider, the Head of Social Sciences will have the opportunity to influence team developments, build on its strengths and be instrumental in developing changing areas of the curriculum.

The team is well resourced and has high quality ILT equipment to support and enhance teaching and learning, the team is also supported with a well-stocked library. Student achievement data by cohort broken down by pass, retention, high grades and achievement rates, is available on request. Each area is analysed against benchmarks and internal targets.
Following the 2017 exam results, the Social Sciences team is focused on significant action to improve value added in A Level Psychology and Sociology, consolidating the impressive start made to the Criminology course that began in September 2017 and considering new vocational provision in the area.
