Job overview

This is an exciting time to join OLA, an academically ambitious school which is striving for a vibrant and rich learning experience to futureproof pupils and deliver high value-added results.

A well-qualified, creative and inspiring teacher is required to lead this successful department from September 2024. Ideally this is a fixed-term one year position, however a permanent post may be offered for an exceptional candidate.

All pupils at OLA study Textiles in Years 7 and 8, with the subject becoming optional in Year 9. Pupils are taught in small groups throughout the school which, particularly at GCSE and A-level, allows for more individual support and regular intervention.

Textiles is based within the Creative Arts Faculty, along with Art, Design Technology, Food and Academic Music. The department enjoys excellent working relationships with the other departments within the Faculty and benefits from the sharing of equipment, space and expertise.

Candidates who are able to teach another subject should make this clear in their application.

For full details of the role please refer to the Application Pack,
