14-16 Direct Entry Department

£43,838 - £47,888 (spot pointed)

Barnsley College is looking for a Head of our small 14-16 Direct Entry department to complement our Management team. To commence 1 January 2022, or sooner if possible. You will be responsible for development of the educational provision for young people aged 14-16 needs across the College.

The post holder will provide leadership and line management direction, motivation and be responsible for leading a skilled team, developing the curriculum and optimising learner retention, achievement and progression.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring, outstanding, and passionate leader and teacher. With a proven track record of successful student outcomes in a school setting.

You will have an innovative and dynamic approach to delivering your subject, as well as a good understanding of what is required to achieve the highest quality.

You will not only be an outstanding teacher but you will have the ability to lead and co-ordinate others; recognising what makes a successful high performing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to help shape our 14-16 provision and lead a department to Outstanding. The provision is aimed at young people who are not befitting from school and are motivated by a more practical curriculum.

The closing date for applications will be Sunday 15 August (with interviews expected week commencing 23 August)
