Headteacher

Following the retirement of our long serving headteacher, the governors of this special school are seeking to appoint a successor who has the passion, drive and vision to work with the whole community to take this school forward to its next stage of development.

St. Giles Special School is beautifully situated in the market town of Retford and provides an exceptional opportunity for someone to work at the cutting edge of developments in the field of special education. The school is a purpose-built private finance initiative (PFI) and was opened in 2008. Our pupils have a diverse and broad range of complex needs and abilities.

As our new headteacher, you will:

• be dynamic, determined, approachable and have high personal expectations and a clear vision for the future of the school
• be an inspirational leader, team manager and team player
• be appropriately qualified and experienced in working with children and young people with a broad range of complex needs and abilities
• have high expectations of positive outcomes for our young people
• be able to motivate and inspire our staff to promote learning to a high standard
• have the ability to develop strong relationships with parents, governors, external agencies and the community
