Job overview

Headteacher

L37 - L41, (£107,267 - £118,293 pa)

The Wirral

Start date: September 2023

Weatherhead High School is a well-known, high performing girls’ school with approximately 1,600 pupils and a thriving mixed sixth form. It is a local school of choice, based on a long-standing reputation for academic achievement, a wholehearted commitment to inclusion and a readiness to play a central role in our community.

Following on from the retirement of our current headteacher, we are now looking for an accomplished and committed school leader who understands both the opportunities and complexities that such a role presents: someone who understands how to draw the best from a highly capable group of staff and who understands that excellent schools never stand still. For the right person, this is a stand-out professional and personal opportunity.

We are looking for a highly capable person, who sets high standards for themselves and others, and who works collaboratively to achieve them. You’ll be able to foster excellent relationships with colleagues, parents, the wider local education community and an experienced and very committed governing body. There are great resources to draw from, alongside high-quality facilities – it all contributes to a fantastic learning environment.

We are a confident school that knows its strengths, and is keenly focused on where we know we can be better. We want our new headteacher to build on this openness and honesty, putting the school and its pupils first at all times, and ensuring that a shared clarity of purpose and optimism continues to propel our school forwards.

Visit www.headforweatherhead.co.uk to find out more or contact Raymond Kelly at Navigate NDC on 01625 800862 for a confidential discussion.

Closing date: 30 January (noon)

Weatherhead is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS will be required for this post, along with other checks relevant to the post.

Weatherhead High School is an equal opportunities employer and opposes any form of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, sex, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
