HR Manager

Full time/Part time. Permanent. Grade 11 (£25,991 - £29,577)

An exciting opportunity is available for a HR Manager to join our supportive team. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, and enthusiastic and will have experience of delivering an efficient and effective generalist HR service; ideally within a school or similar environment.  

Under the direction of the Principal and Business Manager, the successful candidate will provide the Academy with strategic and operational advice and support to ensure the effective delivery of HR services within the Academy, in particular processes relating to: HR strategy, policy and procedure, organisational structure, job descriptions, recruitment, staff attendance/absence management, grievance and disciplinary matters, staff appraisal and other general HR duties. 

This is a great opportunity to be a part of a growing and consistently developing school. Huish Episcopi Academy is a large secondary school with approximately 1300 students (11-16 years) and 150 students at Huish Sixth, our sixth form provision which opened in September 2010. Lifestyle Fitness is also part of the school campus. There are approximately 200 staff.

Huish Episcopi Academy is a large, non-selective, mixed secondary school for pupils aged 11-18 based in the heat of the Somerset Levels with a large catchment area. We are proud to be part of United Learning.  At Huish, we offer the full national curriculum to all students with opportunities for our pupils to engage in a broad range of additional activities in sports, music, and the creative arts. It is our aim to develop rounded individuals who are not only academically successful, but who also have opportunities to develop their character education, such as leadership, teamwork, and communication. Our sixth form provides pupils with aspirational courses that allows them to pursue university places or employment after school. The work within school is underpinned by our values of Respect, Ambition and Resilience.

Systems within school focus on allowing disruption-free teaching with the notion of continuous improvement underpinning all we do.
