Al Khor International School is a 4 to 18, co-educational and non-selective international school. Owned by Qatargas, the world’s largest producer of liquefied natural gas, AKIS caters for the children of the company’s employees. We are one of the largest international schools in the Middle East with approximately 4,000 students across our British and CBSE curriculum schools. The school has exceptional facilities and is located in Al Khor Community, 40 minutes north of Qatar’s capital city Doha.

The opportunity:

We are seeking a caring and dynamic HR Lead. The successful candidate will be self-motivated professional having real commitment to delivering excellence in all areas and encouraging others to do the same. Candidate will be responsible for the provision of HR expertise encompassing all HR disciplines, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, workforce planning, organisational design and change, data analysis, and reporting.

Skills and qualities:

  • A Chartered Member of the CIPD
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or, equivalent.
  • 5-10+ years progressive experience of HR in an educational establishment
  • Experience of working at a Senior Executive level and managing multiple
  • stakeholder groups
  • Experience of managing multicultural teams and operating in a multicultural environment

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute and provide inputs to the development of the Human Resource Department
  • Promoting and embedding the school’s vision, mission and values
  • Improving attendance and supporting achievement and attainment
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and good citizenship
  • Managing staff and supporting professional development
  • Leading on whole school initiatives

Owned by QatarEnergy LNG– one of the largest natural gas-producing companies in the world, AKIS was established to cater primarily for the children of its employees. The school is located in Al Khor Community, approximately 40Km north of Doha.

A co-educational and non-selective school, AKIS offers the following provision to students from Kindergarten through to Post 16 (3-18 years of age):
