St Teresa’s College, Abergowrie is a Catholic secondary boy's boarding college. Located in an ideal rural setting in the heart of the Herbert River Valley, the College is approximately 30 km north west of Ingham and situated on Warrgamay land. The main industries are sugarcane, forestry, and cattle. Abergowrie is close to Wallaman Falls which is the highest single drop waterfall in Australia and the beautiful Broadwater National Park.
LEARNING ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR
The role of the Learning Enrichment Coordinator is to support the mission of the school through the leadership of the learning and teaching program. This involves developing an appropriate curriculum in line with national, state and local requirements; ensuring that appropriate pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels; ensuring the quality of student learning and the effectiveness of teacher practice through appropriate supervision; utilising thorough analysis of current data to inform decisions; developing appropriate partnerships within and outside of the school; and prudently administering available resources.
Role and Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the designated curriculum area taught in the school in partnership with the Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning
- Identification and referral of students with disabilities or learning difficulties transitioning from Year 7 in one of the following domains (Primary School Ascertainment): Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment or Physical Disability and general learning difficulties.
- To lead and manage the Learning Support Team through the coordination of School Officers. Tasks will include timetabling, designing, constructing and informing on programs or support tasks to be implemented with the students in groups or individually within the classroom
- Design and Administer New Student Entry Testing at the start of each term
- Regular consultation with Guidance Officer, School Nurse, School Psychologist, Speech Pathologists, AVT, Occupational Therapists and other agencies as required
- Provide coaching and planning support to classroom teachers in delivering the Australian Curriculum
- Must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
