BSix is very much in the process of re-establishing itself as a respected provider of high quality education. After a period of falling rolls and financial uncertainty, a new ethos and revived sense of optimism is apparent in the college. In 2019 results across almost every course were up on those of past years, often significantly so. An Ofsted monitoring report earlier in the year testified to the significant progress being made; the impact of a major capital development programme has been very positive; student enrolments are set to grow for the coming academic year.
Anyone joining us now does so at an exciting and important time with the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our continuing improvement. If you would like to work in a comprehensive sixth form college serving a multi-cultural community and to become part of BSix`s regeneration, we would welcome your application for the following role. Further details are available from the college web-site.
Learning Mentor – Library and Resources
The College’s Learning Mentors are based in the newly opened Learning Resource Centre and in the English & Maths Hub. Learning Mentors provide academic support to students, forming a vital part of their study programmes.
Although you will be part of the Learning Mentor team, you will have a specific focus on learning resources. You will ensure that the college has appropriate learning resources in place, whether they be physical books and journals, or on-line resources and you guide our students in the use of these resources.
