Welcome to Meridian High School

At Meridian High School we have an incredibly committed and dedicated staff team who have the privilege of supporting and teaching a genuinely comprehensive intake of students, both in terms of backgrounds and abilities. Every single one of us contributes to the personal development, progress and experience of the students at Meridian High School.

About Meridian High School

Meridian High School is a forward-looking, dynamic Academy, on a journey of rapid improvement within GLF Schools. We believe education is about developing the whole person, helping learners to understand the many different branches of human knowledge, challenging them to think critically and encouraging a desire for truth and curiosity in life.

Based in New Addington, Croydon, Meridian High School first opened under it's current name in 2015. It was previously known as Addington High School and has around 1,200 pupils. The secondary school and sixth form was named for the prime meridian line, which passes through the school grounds.

Values and vision

Meridian High School does a great deal to ensure that pupils have a strong sense of family and take pride in their school. Teachers seek to ensure that pupils develop both inside and outside the classroom, with extensive extra-curricular activities on offer. The intention is that pupils leave the school with the emotional and social intelligence to succeed in the real world, as well as strong academic qualifications.

Our School is a family. That means, above all else, we help each other to be:

Resilient - Ambitious - Respectful

We have high aspirations for every student and believe that everyone is capable of remarkable successes. As a GLF Schools Academy, we provide high quality, challenging and personalised education experiences to ensure that we all have every opportunity to Grow, Learn and Flourish as exceptional leaders and contributors to society.
