An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced professional to work collaboratively with school communities and the Catholic Education Northern Territory (CENT) staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for Aboriginal and Islander students through the provision of quality Catholic education.

The Manager - Aboriginal and Islander Education provides leadership, service and support in all areas of Aboriginal and Islander Education in the Diocese of Darwin.


Essential Requirements

  • A commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education
  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications in Education, Religious Education or Education Leadership, preferably at the Masters level or above
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant Aboriginal and Islander Workforce Development in both the Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools (ACCS) and the urban schools
  • Provide support for the engagement, well-being and learning of Aboriginal and Islander families and the wider Aboriginal and Islander community in education
  • Development of cultural competency through upskilling Aboriginal and Islander students.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law. Full details are outlined in the position description.
