Job overview

Exeter School, incorporating The New School, is the leading co-educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 1,000 pupils aged 3-18. We are now looking to appoint a Marketing Manager from January 2023. The marketing and admissions team are ambassadors for the school, displaying friendliness, creativity and professionalism, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service both externally and internally.

In this role you will get involved in all our marketing and communications activity from planning multi-channel comms and marketing plans, copywriting, promoting the pupil voice, to social media and website content. Day-to-day you will be our in-house expert on the website CMS and will be writing content for marketing emails, newsletters, and social media. Experience of graphic design and using InDesign would be an advantage. You will use analytics to see how your campaigns are working and will be our brand guardian alongside the Director of Admissions and Marketing.

This is a full-time permanent position. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm. Occasional weekend and out of hours working will be required and some working from home in school holidays can be negotiated.

Salary will reflect your experience. Generous benefits include free school lunch during term time, free on-site parking, access to school sporting facilities, an 8% employer contribution to the school’s approved pension scheme and membership of a health cash plan.

Closing date for applications is Thursday 12 January 12pm with interviews to be held on Thursday 19 January. Early application is highly recommended as interviews may be held as suitable applications are received. We reserve the right to close the application process early.

Applications will only be considered with a completed Exeter School application form. A CV alone is not sufficient.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and responsibility. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. All staff working in the school during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In your role you are likely to be regularly working directly with, and be responsible for, children in your care. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
