Caldicott is one of the country’s most prestigious Independent Boarding and Day Preparatory Schools for Boys. We are a flourishing school with around 250 boys from 7 to 13 years old, with all boys boarding in the final two years. We deliver a first class education, sporting provision and a rich variety of music, drama, arts and extracurricular opportunities in a friendly and supportive working environment. The school is only twenty miles from central London in a beautiful location.
We are looking for a truly exceptional individual to join our Boarding Team as a matron to replace a long serving member of our dedicated team who is soon to retire. This is a waking nights only role from 11pm to 7am throughout the week.
The successful candidate will be a caring, friendly and compassionate individual who will:
• Ideally have experience in a similar school boarding house or residential setting either as a nurse or matron
• Be first aid trained
• Be happy to undertake administrative and sewing tasks when not directly attending to pupils, and
• Be a responsive, responsible and calm person in all situations and a clear and effective communicator.
Applicants with previous experience of care giving or nursing industries would be ideal, however other suitable carer experience will be considered.

Caldicott is a thriving day and boarding country prep school for boys aged 7 – 13 in South Buckinghamshire. Situated in 40 acres of magnificent grounds, we are just 15 miles from Heathrow Airport and 30 minutes from West London. The main point of entry into Caldicott is in Year 3 and Year 4, although some boys join later. All boys board in Year 7 and Year 8 with the option to flexi/occasional board between Year 3 - Year 6.
Most boys leave at 13 to the finest independent senior schools with outstanding grades and routinely succeed in scholarship applications including academic, sport, music, art, drama and ‘all-rounder’ awards.
