About Caldicott Preparatory School
Caldicott is a thriving day and boarding country prep school for boys aged 7 – 13 in South Buckinghamshire. Situated in 40 acres of magnificent grounds, we are just 15 miles from Heathrow Airport and 30 minutes from West London. We pride ourselves on our warm community where our pupils are happy and feel valued.
The success of Caldicott in recent years has led some to describe the school as amongst the country’s top prep schools, yet our approach to the education we provide stems from an ethos fostered by our founder, Mr J Heald Jenkins. He believed that a prep school education should offer tremendous care for the needs of each boy, great breadth of opportunity in learning and the arts, innovative teaching and plenty of sport.
The main point of entry into Caldicott is in Year 3 and Year 4, although some boys join later. All boys board in Year 7 and Year 8 and optional boarding available in Year 5 and 6.
Most boys leave at 13 to the finest independent senior schools with outstanding grades and routinely succeed in scholarship applications including academic, sport, music, art, drama and ‘all-rounder’ awards. Further details regarding future schools and scholarship success following Caldicott can be found here.
Caldicott is committed to an education that has the wellbeing of each boy at its heart; to develop individuals who thrive and flourish in the fullest sense. We aim to equip our children to be happy and confident, form lasting relationships with others and develop strategies for coping with the challenges life throws at them – essential skills for succeeding in today’s complex, fast-moving world. Our community is not only warm and welcoming from the staff and pupil body, but also our parents form the Friends of Caldicott who add another layer of friendship and happiness.

“They [pupils] display a profound sense of awe in the joy of learning and the opportunities that are afforded them across school life. A joy of life permeates the school.”- ISI Inspection 2017
“Pupils achieve high standards across the curriculum, and build knowledge and understanding in all areas of learning. This is partly due to the exemplary attitudes of pupils and their overwhelming enthusiasm, as well as excellent teaching and well planned lessons.”- ISI Inspection 2017
