Oathall is seeking to appoint an MIS and Data officer to be responsible for the operational management and development of the college MIS (Bromcom) and data systems in the school.

Management and use of data is a critical function for the school and underpins everything that we do to manage students safely and to ensure students make progress and achieve their best. Reporting to the assistant headteacher responsible for student progress, the ideal candidate will be experienced at and enjoy working with data and with management information systems. The ideal candidate will need to be able to work methodically and creatively to ensure our data and data systems support the college operation. You will also need to be approachable and happy to help users to get the best from our data systems.

We welcome applications from candidates who want to develop their careers. Training on Bromcom and other data systems is available for the right candidate. In addition, we would consider occasional working from home but please note that there will be a need for the successful post holder to attend school in person on a regular basis.

Candidates are welcome to visit the college for a tour of the site before submitting an application. If you wish to visit the college please call Mrs Hannan on 01444 883214 to arrange an appointment.

Applications should be completed via the website using a support staff application form along with our recruitment monitoring form and a short letter of application (no more than one side of A4). Please email the documents to jobs@oathall.org or post to Mrs Sara Atkin. Applications may be considered as they are received.

The closing date for applications is 11 am on Monday 22 April

"Oathall is a large, happy school community" Ofsted inspection 2023

Oathall is a mixed comprehensive secondary school for students aged between 11 and 16.  We are situated on the boundaries of the town of Haywards Heath and the village of Lindfield in the heart of Mid-Sussex. The college opened in 1938 and has a full spectrum of specialist accommodation and facilities including well-equipped classrooms, a music centre, library, drama & dance studios, a fitness gym and a large sports hall. Outside we have large playing fields used for sport, a floodlit full-size 3G artificial turf pitch and a five acre farm. In 2022, we were told that Oathall was a confirmed project under the DFE school rebuilding progrmme. We anticipate the project will commence in around 2026-2027.

Our teaching and learning aim is simply to ensure the best possible progress and high attainment for every student.  We offer a broad, balanced curriculum based on our knowledge of our students that challenges and motivates students to achieve their best. Academic and vocational success is complemented by an extensive extra curricular programme. Oathall prides itself on its excellent pastoral organisation and inclusion policy which is recognised as an example of best practice. Pastoral care is based around a year group structure. We also operate a traditional house system, consisting of four houses, Discovery, Endeavour, Pioneer and Voyager.

Oathall works in a spirit of co-operation and industry with a deep respect for high standards of attitude and attainment. This, together with an excellent curriculum and friendly atmosphere, leads to the education of a first-rate set of well-adjusted and highly qualified young people. The strong and effective teaching staff, excellent resources and atmosphere of hard work ensure that Oathall children have the highest possible quality of learning.
