Caldicott is one of the country’s most prestigious Independent Boarding and Day Preparatory Schools for Boys. We are a flourishing school with around 250 boys from 7 to 13 years old, with all boys boarding in the final two years. We deliver a first class education, sporting provision and a rich variety of music, drama, arts and extracurricular opportunities in a friendly and supportive working environment with excellent employee benefits.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Music Department Administrator to assist our Director of Music and support the whole department and Visiting Music Teachers.  The post holder will act as a point of communication for students, staff and parents alike, and assist with timetabling of music lessons alongside a variety of administrative tasks.  An interest in and knowledge of the performing arts would be a great asset.

The successful candidate will:

• be a highly organised, capable, efficient and confident administrator;

• have a positive, proactive, “hands-on” approach;

• be a versatile and professional team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

• have excellent MS Office skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;

• demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism and

• ideally have experience of working within a music or arts focused department, within a school setting.

Caldicott is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Caldicott is a thriving day and boarding country prep school for boys aged 7 – 13 in South Buckinghamshire. Situated in 40 acres of magnificent grounds, we are just 15 miles from Heathrow Airport and 30 minutes from West London. We pride ourselves on our warm community where our pupils are happy and feel valued.

The success of Caldicott in recent years has led some to describe the school as amongst the country’s top prep schools, yet our approach to the education we provide stems from an ethos fostered by our founder, Mr J Heald Jenkins. He believed that decency, tolerance and humanity would enable each boy to ‘shine their light on the world’.

The main point of entry into Caldicott is in Year 3 and Year 4, although some boys join later. All boys board in Year 7 and Year 8 with the option to flexi/occasional board between Year 3 - Year 6.

Most boys leave at 13 to the finest independent senior schools with outstanding grades and routinely succeed in scholarship applications including academic, sport, music, art, drama and ‘all-rounder’ awards. Further details regarding future schools and scholarship success following Caldicott can be found here...

Caldicott is committed to an education that has the wellbeing of each boy at its heart; to develop individuals who thrive and flourish in the fullest sense. We aim to equip our children to be happy and confident, form lasting relationships with others and tackle each challenge with grit and good humour. Our community is not only warm and welcoming from the staff and pupil body, but also our parents form the Friends of Caldicott who bring the whole community together with fantastic events throughout the year.
