Job overview

North Manchester ITT Partnership – Primary Lead

Salary range:  £45,288 – £52,403 [0.5 FTE] Temporary 1 year contract

Who are we?

NMITTP partnership became an accredited SCITT in November 2014; we have successfully trained three cohorts of trainees across several secondary subjects and the primary phase 5-11. We currently offer two routes: salaried and core training and we coffer the assessment only route. We work in partnership with Manchester University to provide the PGCE element.

Our recent Ofsted inspection graded the provision as ‘Good’ in all areas as ‘.Trainees develop a high level of resilience and emotional intelligence throughout their training year. Without doubt, trainees and NQTs are self-reflective practitioners who constantly strive to improve their practice.’ (Ofsted 2017)

The SCITT is now in a position to grow, we will offer a 3-7 primary course from September 2018 and we expect to have at least 20 primary trainees on course. All of our primary trainees will complete their placements in Manchester. We have an excellent network of partnership schools who contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the SCITT.

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, we are looking for an excellent and experienced practitioner with the ability and enthusiasm to secure the best possible outcomes for our trainees. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a successful team, build on current provision and develop the new 3-7 programme.

We are particularly interested in applications from practitioners with evidence of successful involvement with initial teacher training; you should have a good understanding of initial teacher education and national policy and local and national need. You will be an expert coach who has a proven track record of enabling teachers to make progress.

When does the role start?

The start date for the role is the 1st September 2018; we would anticipate some additional negotiated days before September.

If I’m still interested, what should I do next?

We think that applying for a new role should always be seen as a 2-way process, you have to be right for us, but the SCITT also has to be right for you. So if you are interested in applying, please do give us a call to arrange a visit or informal telephone conversation with the Accounting Officer or SCITT Lead to discuss the role further.
