About the role

Greenfields Primary School & Nursery are currently looking to appoint a Nursery Apprentice to complement our successful team. You must possess a natural nurturing ability, want to encourage children to achieve and be a good team player. You will be a good communicator, have a good command of the English language, be trustworthy, reliable, take pride in what you do and above all else, be an exemplary role model to small children.

Who we are looking for

We are providing opportunities for those wishing to embark in a career in childcare to learn about the EYFS whilst having hands on experience in learning to care for children aged 2 to 4 years. You will be working in an environment of highly skilled Nursery staff who will be able to support you and share their learning experiences.

Applicants must be able

  • To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the EYFS lead or the Nursery Lead
  • To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others by carrying out on going risk assessment
  • To assist the Nursery lead in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
  • To develop partnerships with parents/carers increasing their involvement in their child’s learning
  • To get involved in whole school life
  • To be an active team player who shows initiative and works well as part of a team
  • To have a commitment to safeguard children in our care
  • To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship

Hours

The hours are 37 hour a week, Monday to Friday 39 weeks per year, term time only. The hours are flexible and timetabled between the hours of 8am and 6pm. You will attend Tresham college regularly whilst completing in-house internal assessments and observations.
