Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic university students who are interested in supporting a school’s physics or maths department. Successful candidates will receive £1,200 for completion of a 4-week summer internship at a school in the north east.
As well as gaining essential school experience, key to your teacher training application, you will also work alongside outstanding teachers and receive support and advice from our friendly Shotton Hall SCITT team. This is the ideal opportunity to find out if teaching could be the career for you and get paid while doing it!
What will you be doing?
- Supporting in lessons
- Working with small intervention groups
- Supporting staff in every day school life (e.g duties, clubs etc)
Have you got what it takes?
Candidates will be
- professional
- reliable
- enthusiastic and passionate about their subject
- very organised.
Candidates will have
- strong subject-specific knowledge of either maths or physics
- a passion for working with young people
- a good sense of humour.
Ideally, applicants would be in their penultimate year of university in a subject suitable for teaching physics or maths. Applicants must also have a C or above in GCSE English and maths.
