We have an exciting opportunity within a thriving, well-resourced Modern Foreign Languages Department at one of the country’s leading girls’ schools for a teacher of Italian to play a key role in launching this language in our curriculum. We already offer French, German, Mandarin and Spanish and are excited to be expanding our curriculum to include another European language from September 2018.
Working with a passionate and talented team, you will initially be teaching lessons to pupils in year 9 who will choose to begin learning Italian with the aim of completing the GCSE in year 11. The number of hours taught would therefore be likely to increase after the first year as we envisage further uptake in year 9 in the future. There may also be the opportunity to teach small groups of girls who are bilingual speakers of English and Italian with a view to them sitting the GCSE in year 10.
The MFL Department benefits from a state of the art languages laboratory and organises a number of exciting trips, exchanges and events, which reflect our passion for exploring languages.
