Job overview

We are looking for a confident and inspiring part time teacher of MFL (German) from September 2019 to join our dynamic and over-subscribed University Technical College (UTC). 

As a technical STEM centre we value the importance of languages and consequently all our KS4 undertake a vocational course WJEC Level 1/2 award in global business language / German. As Subject teacher you will be responsible for the delivery and management of this course in conjunction with our Business partners including BMW, HTL Modling and Jacobs.

From September, we will be also enrolling Year 9 on a discovery STEM curriculum.

This role will suit an experienced classroom MFL practitioner or outstanding Newly Qualified Teacher who is ready to learn and develop their leadership of a subject and support curriculum area strategy. Significant development and CPD including national courses will be provided to meet individual needs.

Due to our expansion we have the opportunity for a part time teacher of German. This role can be flexible to suit days and hours making it ideal for a returning teacher or those with child dependence

Aston University Engineering Academy (Years 9, 10 and 11) and Aston University Sixth Form (Years 12, 13 and 14) are both housed in our £16.2 million state of the art building located in the heart of the city of Birmingham, next to the Aston University and Innovation Birmingham campuses, with a new multi-million pound extension due to start within the next few months. It is located close to the motorway links and within easy walking of three city centre train stations.

Originally designed for 600 students, AUEA now has 720 students on roll and has now been approved to expand to 800 students. We have a close-knit family of around 40 teachers, and 40 support staff, including administration staff, dedicated HLTA’s/TAs, college leaders (pastoral) and technicians to name a few.
