An exciting opportunity has arisen for strong candidates to support teaching and learning at Huish Episcopi Academy in Langport. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

Job title - Pastoral Support Worker

Working Pattern - Monday to Friday full time

Salary Banding - Pro rata Salary £22,798.00 - £25,694.00

CORE JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·      Attendance support for assigned year group/key stage

·      Behaviour support for assigned year group/key stage

·      Welfare/safeguarding support for assigned year group/key stage

·      Academic progress support for assigned year group/key stage

·      Support for Leaders in carrying out their roles in relation to the above

·      To manage, in liaison with the Head of Year, any minor discipline/behaviour issues where parents need to be informed and the identification of underperformance either academically or socially.

·       To liaise with the SENCO for all pupils with special needs.

·      To oversee pupil welfare/child protection for all pupils in the year

You will have demonstrable strong behavioral management skills as well as an ability to diffuse difficult situations. The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure and be able to work as part of a team in order to support our high expectations.

Huish Episcopi Academy is a large, non-selective, mixed secondary school for pupils aged 11-18 based in the heat of the Somerset Levels with a large catchment area. We are proud to be part of United Learning.  At Huish, we offer the full national curriculum to all students with opportunities for our pupils to engage in a broad range of additional activities in sports, music, and the creative arts.
