Job overview
The role
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to join our Premises Team.
Duties include general maintenance of the school site and being responsible for carrying out security, health and safety checks, cleaning and liaising with the team as to site requirements. Having previous experience in a similar position would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Premises Team ensure that the school is always ready for the important task of educating our students in a safe and welcoming place for all users. We are looking for someone to join that team who is pro-active and willing to learn/engage in a range of skills which include maintenance, security, decorating, liaising with contractors, handling deliveries and porterage.
You will be required to work a shift pattern where the rota is negotiable. Earliest shift 7.00 – 14.45, middle shift 9:00 – 16:45, latest shift 10.45 – 18.30 plus overtime hours/evening and weekend work where necessary on a rota. There will also be ongoing CPD provided by the school including undertaking a Level 3 Pool Plant Management Course.

About our School
Thomas More Catholic School exists to provide an academic, spiritual, sporting, creative and inclusive education for all of the children who attend our school. The school is underpinned by gospel values such as love, faith, charity and hope and the greatest of these is always love – of Jesus Christ our Lord, of one another and oneself. The school is attended by children between the ages of 11 and 19 years. A school and orphanage was opened on this site in 1868 with the Catholic Church opening the school as we now know it in 1962. We have about 850 children on roll.
Thomas More Catholic School is set on an extensive site with an atmospheric older building and extensive grounds which are used for our sporting activities. Our facilities are hired by the local community in the evenings and weekends (the swimming pool and sports hall are used by local swimming clubs and sports clubs) and our football pitches are hired for Sunday morning football. We also share the grounds with one of our feeder primary schools, Margaret Roper Primary School.
