What You'll Be Doing:

As as an enthusiastic Primary ASD Teacher you will make a difference by working with a group of pupils who have a diagnosis of Autism.  You will plan and deliver personalised programmes, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress and make adjustments in response to the outcomes so that the highest levels of progress is made for each pupil. You will lead, and effectively deploy staff members in the class team, ensuring the commitment to safeguarding, safety and well-being of all the pupils .

About you: 

• You will be a qualified teacher with QTS. (NQTs are encouraged to apply as we have a comprehensive NQT induction and mentoring systems to support you). 

• You will have a passion for Special Educational Needs and a creative, inspirational approach to developing and delivering the curriculum, able to inspire and develop pupils to achieve their full potential. 

• You will be able to work collaboratively to secure the best outcomes for all pupils.

• You will have a knowledge of Thrive strategies and an understanding of behaviour management strategies to support pupils. 

• You will be an excellent classroom manager, able to effectively lead a team of Teaching Assistants.

About the school: 

Based in the London Borough of Hounslow, Marjory Kinnon School is a popular special school for pupils aged 4-16 years with moderate and severe learning difficulties, a high proportion of whom have a diagnosis of Autism.  Ofsted has judged the school as ‘Good’ with elements of ‘Outstanding’.    We are committed to raising standards that promote the welfare of our pupils through safeguarding and enhancing their learning experiences.

Marjory Kinnon School is one of the country’s largest SEND schools. Since having moved into a new purpose built school building in 2018 the school has doubled in size. A well performing school, MKS provides education to 330 pupils between the age of 4 and 16, many of whom have ASC as their primary diagnosed need.

We are a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated, knowledgeable and creativity professionals, over 200 in number, working collaboratively to effectively support every single child in the way they need.
