We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Primary School Teacher to join our successful school in Qatar, to start in August 2017;

Primary Teacher - Teaching subjects across the English National Curriculum in either KS1 or KS2.

The School

We have classes from Foundation Stage 2 through to Year 7.

Primary Teacher

Oryx International School seeks applications from enthusiastic, hard-working and talented teachers seeking to develop their teaching career in an international setting.

We follow the British National Curriculum that is modified to meet the needs of our students who represent 33 different nationalities.

We place a lot of importance on stage as well as age, so we are interested in hearing from teachers with a wide range of experience of all Stages of Learning. If you have teaching experience of Early Years Foundation Stage; Key Stage 1; Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3, we are keen to hear from you.

Experience of leading the development of Computing will be an advantage.

You would be joining a very supportive committed group of professionals with a mix of young and more experienced teachers.

Oryx International School is currently in its first full year of operation and has already gained membership to the British Schools of the Middle East and has been accepted as Candidate member of the Council of International British Schools (COBIS). Minimum Requirements

  • University degree
  • Qualified Teacher Status / PGCE
  • Experience of teaching in the British Education system either in the UK or in British international schools
  • Being able to offer a range of After School Activities
  • Satisfactory Police / DBS (formerly CRB) checks

Desirable

  • At least 2 years’ experience of teaching
  • Experience of teaching and leading Computing would be an advantage
  • Teaching students whose mother tongue is not English

Oryx International School is a unique project conceptualised by Qatar Airways and Orbital Education, creating a joint venture between a world-renowned, multi-billion dollar turnover airline and a prestigious group of international schools. The objective of this £70 million project is to satisfy the demand for premium quality British style education for the children of Qatar Airways employees in Doha, Qatar.

The school has a six form capacity from Foundation Stage 1 up to Year 13 and is already almost full in the Primary year groups and most Secondary year groups have four form entry.
