Job overview

Nord Anglia Education has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an outstanding, internationally experienced leader in education, to drive the ongoing success of the highly regarded Nord Anglia International School, Al Khor in Qatar.

THE SCHOOL

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Principal to lead the Nord Anglia International School, Al Khor (‘NAISAK’). Our highly respected school, often called the gem in the desert, teaches an innovative British and international curriculum for children aged 3-18. The school has over 40 nationalities currently enrolled, including students from the UK, Qatar, South Africa, India and even Iceland. Alongside the international curriculum, learning styles and teaching staff, the students diversity significantly contributes to what makes it a truly international school. This range of nationalities provides our students with an awareness of the world – different cultures and understandings, all of which build a mindfulness and respect for the people and the world around us.

A Nord Anglia Education school since 2012, NAISAK prides itself on being a British curriculum school with a global outlook. Our 3-18 education begins with the English EYFS Framework. We then deliver a bespoke Primary curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England but tailored to meet the needs of our local and international students. Secondary students study for iGSCEs, AS and A levels, providing the best possible preparation for university entrance. NAISAK holds Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA) as well as British Schools Overseas (BSO) status.

Additionally, as a member of the Nord Anglia Educational family of schools, NAISAK draws on the strength of this forward-thinking, premium and contemporary global network of 84 schools. The Global Campus connects students with other Nord Anglia Education schools based in 33 different countries worldwide. Students are able to extend their international experience through opportunities to learn abroad, to connect with more than 75,000 students through our innovative online platform, and to take advantage of exciting experiences and expeditions. Through our collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF and IMG Academy, we embrace innovation to ensure students and teachers have the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in the future.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

As Principal you will be supported by your peer principals as well as the regional and central NAE teams. In addition, all principals are also enrolled on the NAE Principals In Role Support (PIRS) programme which includes sessions with an executive coach.

 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The appointed candidate will:

  •  Possess a creative and pragmatic mind with the ability to lead innovations in teaching and learning and the broader activity of the schools;
  • Lead with a strategic and decisive style, suitable for a highly successful school within a competitive environment;
  • Demonstrate understanding of how to create and innovative and purposeful curriculum using contemporary international thinking to create a distinctive positioning for the school;

In return for your passion to deliver the highest quality education you will enjoy a competitive salary, accommodation provided by us, an annual flight allowance, car, health insurance and places in the school for your children.
