What makes our school special?

Nord Anglia International School Al Khor is an ambitious school that has rapidly grown through the support of our local community and our global family of NAE schools. Learning is driven by caring and passionate teachers within a culture of pride and respect. Teaching the heart and the mind will empower our students to succeed in the 21st century.

We are able to provide a learning experience that is second to none in Al Khor. As a member of Nord Anglia Education (NAE), we benefit from having programmes for our students that no other school can offer, such as Global Campus. Our students are able to collaborate with learners from all over the world in NAE’s 44 schools. The collaborations with UNESCO is teaching our students to become global citizens whilst developing solutions to the Millennium Development Goals. Two of our students will fly to New York in the summer to participate in discussions with the United Nations General Assembly. In September, we will be launching our partnership with The Juilliard School, a world leader in performing arts education.

Our teachers are primarily UK qualified and are passionate about students’ learning. They are energetic, vibrant and perhaps most importantly, caring. We appreciate that a student’s well-being is essential to them recognising their academic potential and we are proud of the feedback we regularly receive regarding about our warm and welcoming school community.

Our curriculum model

Our curriculum model is ideal as it enables our students to benefit from the rigour of the English National Curriculum in English, Mathematics and Science. Additionally, the benefits of inquiry are achieved through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and cross-curricular projects in Secondary. This equips our students to be internationally-minded citizens with the necessary skills and confidence to take on the constantly evolving world in the 21st century.

Our national and international accreditations

We are a fully accredited member of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME), Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), Oxford International AQA Examinations and have recently received (June 2016) a five-year re-accreditation from the Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA), which equates to the highest possible rating.

As noted by the inspecting team in a previous BSO accreditation, “The school has established itself as an effective learning community in a short period of time, and has ambitious targets for its future development.”
