We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Reception class teacher to join our vibrant and energetic team in January 2020. The successful candidate will be a team player who shows initiative and the drive to constantly improve and share excellent classroom practice. Candidates will be able to teach pupils of a wide ability range, stretching the most able while supporting those who may have additional needs, while maintaining a nurturing and kind outlook on all the young children in their care, as they begin their educational journey. The candidate will be interested in developing outdoor learning and have creative flair and imagination. 

Teaching at Long Close is a hugely stimulating and rewarding experience. All teachers are expected to participate fully both in the life of their academic department and the wider life of the School and are encouraged to pursue their own professional development.

The successful candidate will be: 

• An excellent teacher who can nurture, motivate and inspire children.

• Have high expectations of all children with a demonstrable understanding of how to challenge all children to bring about above excellent progress.

• Have systematic and rigorous ways of assessing children to enable planning to address gaps in skills and knowledge.

• Be a team player, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.

Long Close School is a co-educational, independent school for children aged 2-16, situated in Slough, Berkshire.

The school was founded in 1940 and after a series of developments over the decades was bought by Cognita, the largest independent schools business in the UK, in 2004. The senior school opened in September 2006.
