Job overview

Give our schools the financial footing to give students a brighter future.

At Academy Transformation Trust, we believe that every child matters and deserves a first class education. A fast-growing not for profit trust, we oversee the development of 23 schools across the Midlands, East of England and South East – doing whatever it takes to give young people everything they need to reach their full potential.

In this crucial position, you will ensure the effective financial management of four schools (three of which have been rated Good by Ofsted) and one college. We will look to you to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making alongside Principals, whilst presenting budgets and reports to Governing Bodies, so you can expect a very high profile and total involvement in everything we do. At all times, you will ensure compliance with best practice and maximise value for money, and your remit will extend to bid and grant claims, tax management, forecasting and credit control – so every day will bring different challenges.

Of graduate calibre and professionally qualified in accounting or business management, you will bring extensive experience of financial management in the education sector. This will have given you deep understanding of academy funding, procurement and budgeting, and you will be skilled in leading and inspiring teams and shaping strategies. Equally importantly, you will be happy to travel between schools and comfortable presenting complex information to non-financial colleagues – and you will share our determination to drive continuous improvement.

Closing date: Monday, 3 April 2017.
