About the role

St Anthony's Catholic College, Deeragun is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Accounts Payable & Purchasing professional to join our teamThis is a term time (45 weeks), 35 hours per week, permanent role commencing on 15 April 2024.

The permanent, term time (45 weeks)position consists of 35 hours per week during the school term plus an additional week during each school holiday (April, June/July, September) and 2 weeks during the December/January (total of 45 weeks per calendar year). 

The School Officer - Accounts Payable & Purchasing will be required to be well versed in good practice of accounts payable and procurement functions.  The role will demonstrate high level of accuracy and attention to detail as well as the ability to liaise with TCEO staff, school finance staff and vendors concerning financial records and accounts.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out efficient accounts payable functions using financial management systems
  • Knowledge of purchasing and accounts payable functions in a Financial Management System.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger reporting
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of GST requirements

Mandatory Criteria

  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum diploma level qualification or equivalent relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience using the Technology One CiA financial management system in an accounts payable function.
  • Accounts payable experience in the education or government sector.
