St Benedict’s Catholic School opened in January 2018 with 163 students in 7 classes from Prep to Year 6. We welcomed three Prep classes, one Year 1 class, one Year 2 class, one Year 3 class, and one multi-age 4/5/6 class.

 

St Benedict’s Catholic School, Shaw, is seeking applications from experienced candidates for the position of School Officer (Outdoor/Environmental Programs).  This is a Part-time contract position for 10 hours per week for the remainder of the year with an option to continue in 2020.  The Benedict's is very proud to have been awarded a 5 Greenstar rating by Green Building Council of Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain school gardens in the Early Years Precinct, assisting in the maintenance of gardening equipment
  • Maintain and clean Environmental Project areas within the school, for example, chicken coop, fishpond, and compost bins
  • Operate and maintain basic maintenance tools (manual and powered) e.g. drill, saw, grinder
  • Assist Teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs
  • Prepare and clear aware materials for learning use

The successful applicant will be required to have

  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be eligible to hold one
  • Completed Student Protection Training prior to commencement
  • Cert III in Education Support
  • A First Aid Certificate (would be advantageous)
