Altrincham College, part of Achieve and Learn Trust, is an over-subscribed high school in the semi-rural Hale/Timperley area of Altrincham. The school currently caters for approximately 980 students aged 11-18, so is the ideal size to offer opportunity and expertise in every area of the curriculum, whilst still being able to maintain a caring and secure environment. We are entering into an exciting new phase with a £13 million expansion project which will update key areas of the school and will also include a new teaching block to accommodate additional students from September 2027.

Our last Ofsted inspection (May 2022) confirmed that we are a “good” school, The overall message from the Inspection reads:

“Trustees, governors and other leaders set clear and high ambitions for all pupils and for students in the sixth form. These expectations help pupils and students to achieve well overall. This includes those pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who are disadvantaged.”

The staff at Altrincham College and across the Trust are a very forward thinking, future-focused team and we are always looking to the next stage of our development. We find great value in school improvement through collaboration, whether that is within our Trust or outside of it; we work in partnership with other local schools and our Local Authorities across a range of different aspects of provision.

The Achieve and Learn Trust ensures staff professional development is of the highest quality and expects all its staff to engage fully in everything on offer, seeking their own opportunities in addition to this in order to secure the best outcomes for our students.
