37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Immediate Start

We seek to appoint a suitably qualified Science Technician who will be responsible for providing technical support in Science subjects from KS3 to KS4, and coordinating the use of practical resources and facilities in the Science Department.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of COSHH regulations and a relevant Science qualification, ideally with previous experience of working in a Science department, School or commercial laboratory. Good communication skills and the ability to be organised, methodical and resourceful are essential.

The science department has 7 modern, bright laboratories which have been purpose built and are centred around the prep room. We teach AQA combined and triple science and offer extracurricular activities to enhance learning. You will be joining a talented team of Science teachers who are supportive, determined, hard-working and incredibly invested in the success of our students. 

This is a fixed term contract until February 2024 to cover maternity leave.

Maltings is a 11-16 academy based in Witham, Essex. Situated between the city of Chelmsford and Colchester, the academy has 900 students on roll and benefits from a purpose-built building that was constructed in 2011. There are excellent transport links to London which enables our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. Free car parking facilities are available on site.
