We are seeking a full-time Science Technician to join our Science Department. Previous experience as a School Technician would be preferable but not required as we are looking for a well-qualified, capable, and enthusiastic individual. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm) during term-time (37 hours a week) plus two weeks. The salary for this position is dependent on experience and qualifications.  A part time role could be available for the right candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a welcoming, friendly and successful Academy being an integral part of the Science Department’s daily operation.

Applicants should have a Science qualification, preferably in Biology or Chemistry; and keen to participate in laboratory-based learning. Excellent communication skills are essential, as will often be liaising with others within the Science department. Must be confident in preparing experiments for Biology, Chemistry and Physics for GCSE and A Level subjects.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Science and Head Technician to support growth and progression, being involved in: 


• Liaising equipment requirements with staff

• Cleaning, testing and storing resources/equipment

• Carry out practical experiments working with chemical/substance solutions and lab equipment

• Assist staff and/or pupils with science practicals
