About The John Fisher School

The John Fisher School is a highly sought-after Catholic boys’ school with around 1150 students on roll, including a thriving Sixth Form of over 200. Situated in Purley, South London, the school benefits from excellent transport links to central London and Clapham Junction, making it an ideal location for commuting staff.

Founded in 1929, The John Fisher School has a proud tradition of academic excellence, personal development, and strong community values. As a member of our teaching team, you will join a supportive, and committed staff body that is passionate about delivering the highest quality education.

Our curriculum is inclusive, ambitious, and designed to inspire a love of learning and a spirit of service. The school’s extensive co-curricular programme is a key strength, with particular distinction in sport and music. In recent years, we hosted the inaugural National State Schools Rugby Festival in 2024 and reached the national finals in the English Schools Basketball competition in 2025. Our musical tradition is equally strong.

At the heart of our school is our Catholic ethos. Mass is celebrated in our beautiful school chapel at least three times a week, with other sacraments regularly offered. This spiritual foundation permeates school life, helping to form young men of integrity, compassion, and faith.

Joining The John Fisher School means becoming part of a dedicated and professional team with a strong sense of shared purpose and community. We invite you to be part of our mission to nurture, inspire, and challenge the next generation.
