Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Secondary School Counsellor to join our team in the beautiful and historic city of Hannover in Northern Germany from August 2023. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our dynamic team of teachers, our Counselling and Safeguarding Team and our dedicated and diverse student body and our welcoming school community.

International School Hannover Region (ISHR) is an established IB Continuum school of 625 students (aged from 3 - 18) representing over 50 different nationalities.

The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrable experience as a Secondary School Counselor, working with students from 11 to 18 years old. Whilst experience of working in a diverse, inclusive, international school community would be advantageous, this should not discourage candidates with equivalent experience from applying for the role.

ISHR is an inclusive school, therefore the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a range of approaches to learning and teaching and be able to provide empathetic, dynamic and proactive support for all students and to create a welcoming safe environment.

The vision of ISHR is 'Belong, Learn and Thrive'. If you feel that this speaks to you as an educator and you would like to join us to embody our vision and develop your international counselling and teaching career, then we would very much welcome your application.

Further details about our school can be found via our website and social media channels: https://is-hr.de/

At ISHR Child Safeguarding is our top priority. As such, rigorous safeguarding checks will be undertaken prior to any appointment.
