We are seeking an exceptional SEN Teacher to join our school. The successful candidate will have a strong background in inclusion and special educational needs, ideally with previous experience in a SENCo or similar inclusion-focused role.

Doha Academy’s vision is to provide an outstanding, accessible, and fully inclusive education. As many of our students have English as an Additional Language (EAL), experience supporting language acquisition will be an advantage.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish effective communication between parents, pupils, and the school regarding the level and progress of support provided

  • Maintain close liaison with external agencies and specialists

  • Collect, record, and regularly update relevant background information for individual pupils

  • Organise initial assessments and support class teachers in developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Monitor and evaluate interventions to ensure pupil progress

  • Plan and coordinate support timetables to ensure appropriate SEN and support assistant provision

  • Communicate policies, procedures, and pupil needs effectively with teaching staff

  • Liaise with Heads of Section regarding the progress of SEN pupils

  • Ensure SEN pupils have full access to the curriculum

  • Advise and support staff on differentiation strategies, resources, and inclusive practices

  • Work collaboratively with Support Assistants and teaching staff to monitor IEP implementation

  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and progressive learning culture

  • Lead or contribute to CPD related to inclusion, differentiation, and team teaching


Requirements

Essential:

  • PGCE or B.Ed. qualification

  • Strong background in inclusion and SEN

  • Experience supporting both primary and secondary students

Preferred:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a SEN or SENCo-related role

  • Experience working in a British curriculum school

  • Experience supporting EAL learners
