Job overview

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and creative SEND specialist teacher to teach across both our Resourced and Mainstream SEND provision. This role would suit a teacher with experience of teaching students with a range of additional needs within both a mainstream and specialist environment. Specific experience of working with pupils with ASD is essential to this role.  

A SEND teacher at Conisborough College will demonstrate an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of the purpose of Resourced Provision and high-quality Inclusion practice. They will be committed to deliver well planned and effective lessons for EHCP/ASD pupils which will support the implementation of an appropriately broad, balanced and relevant a curriculum. They will contribute to the school’s vision of success for every student.

We are specifically looking for someone who:

• Has the potential to become, or is already, an outstanding classroom practitioner with a real commitment to young people.

• Be able to plan and adapt their teaching to provide the best provision and support for some of our most vulnerable students. 

• Be responsible through effective teaching and consistent adherence to the school’s aims and policies for assisting pupils to learn effectively, develop personally and achieve their individual potential

• To contribute to the school’s provision of extra-curricular activities

• To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils and can utilise assessment data effectively to plan lessons and target intervention

• To contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment and to ensure that within the context of the school that value is added

• To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment for pupil.

• has high expectations of pupils and the belief that all pupils, whatever their background, can achieve their full potential.

• Is an excellent team player who is creative and innovative in their approach to teaching.
