DETAILS:

For September 2023, we are seeking a successful SEN Senior Teacher in the Green Unit School who should be able to teach all areas of the KS2 & KS3 curriculum. The teacher we are looking to hire should be committed to achieving high academic standards and creating a stimulating and positive classroom ethos.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree BEd, BA 
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS), preferably having experience working in international private schools abroad & having knowledge of the English National Curriculum 
  • Having experience teaching SEN students 
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS2 & KS3
  • Have successful teaching experience at the secondary level
  • Good level of ICT skills - Google certified (preferably having Google Educator Level 1 certificate)


The senior teacher is expected to:

  • Support the school's policies and implement the school's philosophy/vision and objectives. 
  • Have a secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum and teach all areas of the KS2 & KS3.
  • Take responsibility for the progress of a class of 12-14 years age SEN pupils.
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
  • Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Differentiate work and address students’ individual needs.
  • Work with colleagues to plan and coordinate work - this includes working with support staff.
  • Use keen observation skills ( summative-formative assessment) to assess each student, set individual targets and track progress.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and possess good experience in implementing behaviour plans and strategies.
  • Conduct extra-curricular activities like supporting school concerts, achievement ceremonies, sports days, excursions and field trips.
  • Inform parents of student's progress through report cards and, where necessary, letters or individual meetings. 
  • Be available for all parent-teacher conferences.
  • Attend all relevant meetings, including curriculum & planning meetings.
  • Implement intervention plans to support students learning.
  • Continuously work on professional development.

Kuwait English School was established in 1978 and is the learning home of a very special community of 2500 students (ages 3 – 19 years), parents, educationalists, administrators and management. We all share the common aim, to ensure that each student in our care accesses the most valuable, fulfilling and enjoyable learning experiences at each stage of his/her school life.
