King Edward VI School is a thriving secondary school set in the heart of West Suffolk. The school has a strong ethos of support for the education of all students and the enrichment of lives both in and out of the classroom.
Owing to retirement, the school is seeking to appoint a SENCO to take a leading role in the further development of learning and teaching strategies for students with SEN and additional educational needs.
The SENCO will work closely with staff in the specialist Hearing Impaired Resource. Reporting directly to the Assistant Head Teaching and Learning this is an exciting opportunity to shape the way in which intervention in literacy, numeracy and EAL are delivered across the school.
The role will have responsibility for the development and implementation of inclusive practice in the classroom, Quality First Teaching and for the administration of all assessments related to Access Arrangements (supported by the Assistant SENCO).
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of raising educational standards and a commitment to ensuring that young people with SEND make at least as much academic progress as their peers.
We are always very receptive to requests for a pre-visit and/or informal contact ahead of making an application. For an informal conversation, or to arrange a visit, please contact Rachel Forward, Assistant Head, Teaching and Learning: firstname.lastname@example.org
