St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a passionate Student and Family Support Worker to join our busy, hardworking team.

The position requires the successful candidate to:

• Work as part of our pastoral team in leading work with families to support the engagement and well-being of students at school and at home.  

• Work with families and school to plan and support learning and behaviour programmes.  

• To support Early Help assessments and act as lead professional where appropriate. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the St Ralph Sherwin Multi Academy Trust working with schools in the Glossop and Hadfield area of the Trust. The schools included are:

St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy: a mixed, comprehensive, Roman Catholic secondary school situated in the thriving town of Glossop, Derbyshire. A smaller than average secondary school, St Philip Howard currently has 487 pupils on roll and is growing rapidly. St Philip Howard is on a journey to outstanding and since the Academy opened in September 2015 has gone from strength to strength. 

All Saints and St Margaret’s Catholic Voluntary Academy: federated in April 2014. They are served by one governing body and both schools work in close partnership together. The mission statement of the school is “In Jesus’ way we learn, live and play”. The schools are both central to the communities they serve. It is our aim for each and every child who joins us to find enjoyment, happiness, friendship and fulfilment throughout their days with us.

St Charles Catholic Voluntary Academy is a small and friendly Catholic Primary School in the heart of Hadfield. They are underpinned by Gospel values and believe all children who enter the school ‘Belong, Believe and Blossom’. This school aims to build on established links with home and parish so that it is seen by all as a working worshipping community involving parish priest, governors, teachers, support staff and children.

Saint Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy provides a primary education within a Catholic setting for the children of Saint Marys parish, Glossop and children from the surrounding area. The school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and delivering the mission of the school, which is for all pupils to ‘Learn to love, learn to believe, learn to achieve’.
