This post provides a unique opportunity to work within a high-performing and growing 11 to 18 school with a large sixth-form and exceptional students. With an intake of approximately 550 post-16 and approximately 210 in this year’s Year 7, Heckmondwike Grammar School is a dynamic place to be. We have been in a process of expanding into a large school; and the addition of £1.1 million in funding next year for a new sixth form centre will enhance this process. The post-holder would be responsible for Computing and ICT (ICT in its final year of GCSE) as part of the ‘Solve’ Faculty. There are three experienced teachers of Computing within the department who work closely with Maths, and Business and Economics to share outstanding teaching practice. All staff in the department are constantly looking at new and exciting ways to deliver the Computing curriculum at all levels from Year 7 through to A Level.
