We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic subject leader for Hospitality and Catering/Food. This is a permanent position from September 2023. The candidate would ideally have experience in some or all of Hospitality & Catering, Food Preparation & Nutrition and Food at KS3, GCSE and BTEC Level 3. The Technology Faculty consists of a team of 18 teachers and 4 support staff working in modern, spacious and well-equipped facilities. Food facilities consist of two state-of-the-art practical rooms and one theory/computer room and are very well resourced with equipment. Redborne is committed to a broad and balanced curriculum and technology subjects remain very popular both at KS4 and in the Sixth Form.

The post is more suitable for experienced teachers. Visits to the school are welcomed.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400 seat theatre and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form.
