NOR – 570 (11-16 Boys Comprehensive)

Subject Leader for P.E.

Main Scale +TLR2c (£2,665)

Required for Easter 2018

We are looking to appoint a well qualified and experienced teacher of PE. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and committed teacher to lead a small, well resourced department.

PE is a popular subject with six GCSE groups in KS4 (years 9-11), and many highly successful school teams, in all the year groups. Facilities include a sports hall, mini gym, pavillion and theory classroom. There is also extensive outdoor space for football, rugby and cricket.

Royal Liberty is a small, oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school for boys. In February 2017 we became an academy and joined the Success for All Multi Academy Trust with Redden Court School.

Through the Priority Schools Building Programme and local authority expansion funding we will be adding an additional sports hall (January 2020) and we are planning to refurbish and reopen our 25m swimming pool within two years.

This post is ideal for someone seeking their first leadership position and we look forward to welcoming the right candidate to develop even further the success and profile of PE in Royal Liberty School at this exciting time.

Royal Liberty School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All adults who work at the school must share this commitment to young people.

The Royal Liberty School is a popular, over-subscribed 11-16 school for boys.  We are located a short walk from Gidea Park Station on a beautiful grade II listed site.

In 2017 we joined the Success for All Educational Multi Academy Trust.  We are making extensive use of our partnership with Redden Court School to continually raise standards of teaching and learning and student outcomes.

From September 2018 we are expanding by 1 form of entry (to 5 forms) to meet the increasing demand for places.  We have received funding for an extensive refurbishment of our buildings.

We are a small school and have a strong sense of community.  Boys are proud to be a part of the school and this reflected on their excellent behaviour and eagerness to take on roles of responsibility and to represent us in the local community.

Staff and students have excellent relationships based on mutual respect.  All members of the school community are ambitious to succeed.  Students feel supported to achieve the very best they can and encouraged to develop the skills and qualities they need to be successful every stage of their life.
