Teacher of A-Level Biology (Maternity)

Start Date: 1 November 2021

Contract Type: Fixed-term contract from 1 November 2021 to 29 August 2022. 

Four and a half A-Level Biology groups (full-time).

Salary: The salary for this post will be within the Main Scale range of the pay spine for Teaching Staff, which is currently £25,570.00 - £41,732.00 per annum.

Located on an attractive campus close to Huddersfield town centre, adjacent to the picturesque Greenhead Park and an easy commute from much of the North West and Yorkshire, Greenhead College has been providing the highest quality academic Sixth Form College education in the area for 40 years.

Greenhead College is an outstandingly successful Sixth Form College with 2,600 16-19 year old students following advanced level courses. The College has a long history of exceptional examination results and sits near the top of the national sixth-form college performance tables, meaning it is one of the very best in the country.

The College wishes to appoint a Teacher of Biology to join our large and highly successful Biology department (visited by Ofsted and, with all the Sciences, adjudged “Outstanding”.)  The Biology department teaches AQA A-level Biology and some Biology staff contribute to the Medical Science Diploma or Health and Social Care Cambridge Technical course.  The successful applicant will join 13 Teachers and two Technicians working in several well-equipped, recently refurbished, laboratories. The department is possibly the largest A-level Biology department in the country with more than 900 students across the two year groups.

The successful applicant will teach a mixture of A1 and A2 A-level Biology groups (four and a half groups in total) and participate in enrichment activities.
