Full-time to cover maternity leave
From January 2023
For January 2023, Exeter School seeks a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time biology teacher to cover a maternity absence in this thriving and successful department.
In addition to a passion for teaching biology, a willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school through cultural, sporting or other extra-curricular activities would be beneficial.
Completed application forms, together with a covering letter should be uploaded to the TES jobsite.
Closing date for applications: Thursday 30 June, noon
Anticipated interview date: Thursday 7 July
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and responsibility. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
All staff working in the school during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In your role you are likely to be regularly working directly with, and be responsible for, children in your care.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
